MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik was honoured with the ‘Order of Zayed’, the UAE’s highest civilian award, on Tuesday as a mark of appreciation for his efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.
The Order of Zayed was conferred on His Majesty by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed during his visit to Oman.
The award has earlier been bestowed on several world leaders, including late Queen Elizabeth II, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Oman visit is Sheikh Mohamed’s second as President. The visit will cement the vision of both countries for a secure and stable region that promotes sustainable development and supports a thriving economy.
