Oman’s EMC records quake in Arabian Sea

A 4.4 magnitude earthquake hit 100km from Masirah at 08:26 am local time, according to the Centre

MUSCAT: An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 was recorded in the Arabian Sea by the Sultanates of Oman’s Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC) at the Sultan Qaboos University on Monday morning.

Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC) at Sultan Qaboos University said in a statement: “An earthquake in the Arabian Sea was recorded at 8.26 am MCT and at a depth of 10 km. The earthquake was recorded 119km away from Masirah.”
On Sunday, a tsunami warning was in effect for Taiwan after a magnitude 7.2 earthquake shook the country at around 3:44pm local time, the earthquake hit at a very shallow depth and maximum intensity was 1.
