MUSCAT: It took just 90 seconds for the fire and rescue team at Muscat International Airport to respond and extinguish an engine fire on an aircraft last week.
An Air India Express flight caught fire minutes before take-off at Muscat International Airport on Wednesday. All 141-passengers and crew were evacuated safely after fire was detected in one of the engines.

Muscat International Airport’s Fire and Rescue team for their outstanding performance in responding, in only 90 seconds, and extinguishing an engine fire on an aircraft last week.”

The Kochi-bound flight was on a taxiway when another aircraft reported observing fumes from one of the engines. However, there was no fire warning indication in the cockpit, according to a statement issued by the Air India Express management.
