OMR 2.6 million power station ready at Duqm

MUSCAT: A main power distribution station project has been completed in the Fish and Food Industries Zone at the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD) at a cost of OMR 2.6 million.

The station has a capacity of up to 40 MVA and can be expanded to 60 MVA in the future, according to ONA on Wednesday.

“At a cost of OMR 2.6 million, the main transformer power station project is being completed in the Fish and Food Industries Zone in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm, with a capacity of 40 MVA, with the possibility of its expansion in the future to 60 MVA,” the news agency said.

Eng Ahmed bin Ali Akak, in-charge of managing the work of the CEO of the SEZ D, said that the power distribution station is equipped with the latest electrical equipment and systems, and is in accordance with the Omani standards and added that work is underway to cover all the targeted schemes in the electrical network in the SEZD to complete the plan of the necessary electrical connections to include all schemes by next year.
