MUSCAT: The Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI), has vehemently denied rumours that were spread on social media platforms about granting monetary benefits to both citizens and residents in the Sultanate.

PASI were forced to issue a statement denying the rumours. “There is not one iota of truth to the news being circulated in social media about the decision to provide financial grants to every citizen and resident within the Sultanate of Oman,” it said.

The fake news circulated mention that the PASI had decided to provide monetary aid of OMR 600 to all in the Sultanate.

The authority also tweeted that the news circulating about the social insurance decision to provide a financial grant is not true.
