MUSCAT: The Sultan Qaboos University has been ranked 16th among the Arab universities, according to the British based Times Higher Education Arab University Rankings 2021.
The report emphasized that the ranking of Arab universities reveals the strength of education throughout the region and said that universities are judged by various parameters including teaching, research, society and international expectations.
The ranking included 125 universities across 14 countries were listed, while 30 universities were listed with “reporter” status, which means that they provided data but did not meet the eligibility criteria to receive a rank.
King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia bagged the No.1 rankings in the Arab world, followed by Qatar University and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology also in Saudi. Most representations came from Egypt (31) and Saudi (22) were second. Most of those featured in the rankings were specialists in science and technology universities.
