Power outage: Telecom services affected in Oman

MUSCAT : Apart from traffic snarl witnessed in five governorates of the Sultanate following a major power outage early on Monday, citizens are now complaining of communication problems too.

The telecom services acknowledged the same to its customers that its services in some of Muscat, parts of South Al Batinah, North and South Al Sharqiyah, and Al Dakhiliyah governorates have been affected and apologized too.

“We regret to inform you of disruption to some of our services due to the general power cuts experienced across the country. We apologise for any inconvenience caused due to circumstances out of our control,” the telecom said in a statement on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) has set a deadline of four hours for restoration of power supply but partially and gradually.
