MUSCAT: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism will hold a promotional campaign in the Republic of India from August 22 till August 29, 2022.

Due to the high volume of Indian tourists visiting from January to July of last year, which reached 167,678, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism will organise a promotional campaign in the Republic of India that includes mobile workshops, specifically for the Indian market.

A delegation from the ministry will be present, along with representatives from a number of Omani travel agencies, hotels, and airlines. The workshops will take place between August 22 and August 29 and will cover five important tourist destinations in the Indian Republic: Bangalore, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Chennai.

Through its participation, the Ministry hopes to raise awareness of the noteworthy tourist attractions in the Sultanate of Oman and to advance various travel trends, such as conference and exhibition tourism.

Asmaa bint Salim Al-Hajri, Director General of the Assistant Director of Tourism Promotion at the Directorate General of Tourism Promotion in the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, said, “The Republic of India is a very important tourist market for the Sultanate of Oman, by presenting the most important tourism products that characterise the Sultanate, as it is of interest to the Indian tourist due to the availability of his requirements and interests during travel that suit all target segments according to the marketing strategy that we follow in our promotional work.”

The Sultanate of Oman, she continued, is a year-round travel destination well known for its scenic landscapes, rich culture, and welcoming people. It has long drawn visitors from all socioeconomic groups.

The Kempinski Hotel Muscat, the Ritz-Carlton, Al Bustan Palace, Shangri-La Resorts, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, Salalah, Alila Al Jabal Al Akhdar, Salalah, Six Senses Zighy Bay in Dibba, and other projects that provide opulent hospitality at a high level of satisfaction are just a few examples of the luxurious and diverse hospitality that is now the focus of our efforts.

Meetings between the ministry’s delegation with top representatives of the Republic of India’s tourism industry and the Indian media will take place during the promotional workshops.

In addition to discussing ways to collaborate, form partnerships with, and enter into contracts with Indian businesses, it will also go over the variety of tourism experiences that the Sultanate of Oman has to offer. Doing so will help restore the tourist flow from the Republic of India to what it was prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
