MUSCAT: The Directorate General of Environment in the Governorate of Dhofar foiled a smuggling operation of wild animals with the help of competent authorities and the Royal Oman Police.
The animals were being smuggled through border crossings, the authorities said.
The rescued animals have been transferred to the veterinary clinic of the Royal Court Affairs in Salalah to receive the necessary treatment and care.

Legal procedures have been initiated by the authorities against the violators. The authority has called on everyone to preserve the environment and wildlife and to abide by environmental laws and legislation.
