Weather Update: Tropical depression forms 600 kms from Oman

The depression is forecasted to head toward the northwest along the Pakistani coast, with a risk that it might even move along the coast of Oman

MUSCAT: A tropical depression has been formed in the Arabian Sea, roughly 600 km from Ras Al Hadd in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

According to the latest satellite images and analysis from the National Centre for Early Warning indicate that the centre of the tropical depression is in the northeast of the Arabian Sea at latitude 22.2 north and longitude 65.4 east.

The wind speed around the centre is estimated from 17 to 27 knots, and the centre of the depression is about 600 km away from Ras Al Hadd, South Al Sharqiyah Governorate.

The depression is forecasted to head toward the northwest along the Pakistani coast, with a risk that it might even move along the coast of Oman, which is predicted to gradually have an impact starting on Saturday, August 13 and last for a few days.
