MUSCAT: A group of people were arrested on charges of fishing shrimp during a ban period on fishing and trading, with the exception of farmed and imported shrimp.
A total of 150 kg of shrimp was confiscated by fisheries control team in Muscat Governorate which were prepared for sale.
The team also seized a number of prohibited nylon nets on a fishing boat. Legal procedures are completed against violators, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth and Water Resources said.
