MUSCAT: The Environment Authority specialists participated in a project to study the Al Rimani turtles nests in Wilayat Masirah.
The Environment Authority and the Fish and Wildlife Service, a department of the US federal government, signed a contract in May 2022 to chart a plan for the preservation of sea turtles in the Sultanate of Oman.
Within the framework of a five-year strategy to preserve Al Rimani turtles in the Wilayat of Masirah, the species will be researched and monitored via satellite.

The project also aims to pay significant attention to marine life. The idea is to serve Omani beaches as a safe haven for sea turtles, notably the species of Al Rimani, Al Hamsa, and Al Sharfaf.
The long-term plan for sea turtle protection, created by Oman, shows a significant interest in monitoring and documenting the several species of turtles breeding on its beaches.
