Musandam Governor inspects condition of roads

The ministry has also formed an emergency technical task force incharge of immediate rehabilitation and road repair in Musandam Governorate.

MUSCAT: The Governor of Musandam, on Saturday, inspected the states in the governorate to understand the condition of the roads affected by the recent heavy showers in Oman. 

On his visit, His Excellency Ibrahim bin Saeed Al Busaidi was accompanied by Dr Ali bin Amer Al Shedani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology; Dr Saeed bin Humaid Al Harthy, Wali of Khasab, and a number of specialists from the ministry and Musandam Governorate.

The visit was aimed at inspecting the condition of the roads and following up on the efforts taken by the specialists to immediately rehabilitate the affected roads in order to resume vehicular movement between regions. Various government sectors, security and military agencies, private sectors, and charitable and voluntary teams have taken the initiative to restore the roads in this region. 

The visit included examining the damage caused to the roads in Wilayat Madha, the internal roads and infrastructure in Lima Prosecution of Wilayat Khasab, and the internal roads in Wilayat Dibba.

In addition, the governor also met with a number of citizens and paid heed to their demands and observations about the roads affected by the governorate. 

The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has also formed an emergency technical task force for immediate rehabilitation and road repair in Musandam Governorate. This team is working towards resuming vehicular traffic, maintenance and opening of asphalt and dirt roads affected by the weather conditions in the governorate’s states.
