MUSCAT: The first day of Muharram 1444 AH will be on Saturday, July 30, 2022, the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs has confirmed on Thursday.
In a statement issued, the Ministry said “the crescent for the month of Muharram was not sighted, therefore tomorrow Friday, July 29 will be the last day of Dhul Hijjah 1443 AH.
Earlier the government announced an official holiday for both public and private sectors on Sunday, 31 July, 2022 on the occasion of Muharram.
