MUSCAT: Oman’s Ministry of Health (MOH) has shut down three private health institutions permanently for violating the quality standards.
However, MOH did not issue the names of these health institutions that were permanently suspended.
In a statement issued, MOH said it also suspended 18 other private health institutions temporarily, while it also suspended two private specialized health institutions.

“Warnings were sent to 66 private health institutions for not adhering to the quality standards required in health services and obligating them to improve their conditions and remove all observations as stipulated in the regulatory procedures,” MOH added.
Speaking about the decision, Dr. Muhanna bin Nasser Al-Maslihi, Director General of Private Health Institutions at MOH confirmed that the Ministry is moving forward with taking all legal measures, “including precautionary closures towards any health institution that does not adhere to the quality standards required for health services. This is an obligation for these institutions to improve their condition.”
