MUSCAT: The Port of Salalah and Fujairah Engineering Company (FECO) have entered an agreement to supply ships with high-quality bunkering. This move would result in making Salalah Port one of the leading bunkering centres in the region.
FECO commenced operations in Salalah in June 2022 after it stationed its commercial vessel Sea Dweller in Salalah where the company supplies fuel via ship-to-ship transportation, pipelines, and by land tankers.
FECO intends to provide different types and grades of fuel as ships visit the port in the waiting area. This will aid in the usage of Salalah Port’s capacity for storage and fuel trading, especially with the implementation of IMO regulations.

“The major strategic partnership between FECO and Salalah Port will help provide a high-quality refuelling service as part of our value-added services portfolio that is also in line with our ambition to become a refuelling hub,” said Mark Hardiman, Salalah Port CEO.
From this agreement, Salalah Port aspires to provide a refuelling service as a value-added service, not only for ships visiting the port, but also for ships sailing on this route.
Salalah Port holds a strategic location on the path of global shipping lines linking Asia and Europe. It also provides services to the markets located in East Africa, the Red Sea, the Indian subcontinent, and the Arabian Gulf.
IBM Terminals manages the Port of Salalah, which is part of the company’s global network of Ports. The port operates two terminals, one for containers and the other for general cargo.
