Oman’s public revenue rises by 49.9%

Ministry of Finance said the state’s general budget achieved a financial surplus of about OMR 631 million.

MUSCAT: Oman’s public revenue has registered an increase by 49.9% by the end of May 2021 to reach over OMR 5 billion, Ministry of Finance said on Thursday.

In a statement, the ministry said the state’s general budget achieved a financial surplus of about OMR 631 million at the end of last May.

“The state’s total public spending rose by 5.7% at the end of last May to reach over OMR 4 billion due to the increase in current and development expenditures and the support of basic food commodities by about OMR 11 million,” the statement from the ministry added.
