MUSCAT: In a tournament organised by Caterpillar cricket team, Al Daam defeated Titans by 38 runs to win the 1st edition of Catcup 2022 sponsored by United Cargo & Logistics.

Titans won the toss and elected to bowl first. Al Daam scored 131 runs in 8 overs without any loss of wickets. Sagheer scored 70* runs from 23 balls and Biji Sundar scored 53 runs from 26 balls eased the team to set an unbeatable target for Titans.

In return, Titans scored 93 runs in 8 overs. Shankarlal scored 36 runs from 18 balls and Shabib scored 21 runs from 7 balls. For Al Daam, Ameer took 3 wickets for 16 runs in 2 overs in order to lead the team to victory.

Muhammad Sagheer (Al Daam) named as Man of the Match of the final and Sakhib (Al Daam) named Man of the Series of the tournament.

Other individual performance selected Ameer – Best Bowler (Al Daam), Biji Sundar–Best Batter (Al Daam), Shabbir – Man of the Match of 1st Semi (Titans), Sakhib – Man of the Match of 2nd Semi (Al Daam), Regil – Best Wicket Keeper (Titans), John – Best Captain (Titans).

TEAM 8 was selected as the best disciplined team in the tournament and received fair play award.
