MUSCAT: Despite the fact that the country has been heating over the previous two weeks, the astronomical summer season will begin from Tuesday, June 21.

This is the first day of the astronomical summer season in the northern hemisphere, according to the Oman Astronomical Society (OAS).

The phenomenon begins at 1:13 pm MCT and thus is the longest day and the shortest night of the other days of the year. The solstice is also celebrated by many cultures around the world.

The June solstice is important because it is at this time that the Sun reaches its northernmost position in the sky, where its path remains unchanged for a brief period of time.
