MUSCAT: The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority launched mobile app Nidaa which allows citizens and residents to call for ambulance service in a single click.

By placing a request on the app, the ambulance would arrive using the SOS system and communicate with the Authority’s Operations Centre in emergency cases. This unique feature of the app allows people with speaking or hearing disabilities to reach out for ambulance services in times of emergencies.

Through the application, it is possible to report emergency situations, such as accidents, injuries, loss, collapses, fires, drowning and other emergency cases.

The application also includes many other services, including a request to approve or update emergency plans, evacuation, operational exercises, securing sites for government and private facilities, and the exit data registration service for adventurers.

The app also makes it possible to record flight information, location, and participant data. It also helps in avoiding cases of loss, and to ensure quick access to the site in emergencies. Additionally, owing to its interactive map, it can help to identify the nearest Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority centre or the nearest health institution.

The launch of Nidaa app is an initiative of the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority in Oman to provide its services to society in a highly professional manner by keeping pace with the digital development witnessed by the Sultanate in various fields. The app would be a direct line of communication with various sections of society.
