MUSCAT: During the fiscal year 2021/22, Qatar Airways Group achieved a record net profit of QAR5.6 billion ($1.54 billion), which was 200 percent higher than its previous best yearly profit.
Overall revenue grew to QAR52.3 billion ($14.4 billion), up 78% from the previous year and 2% higher than FY 2019/20. Due to the expansion of Qatar Airways’ network, improved market share, and higher unit revenue, passenger revenue climbed by 210 percent year over year.
Qatar Airways carried 18.5 million passengers, up 218 percent over the previous year. Qatar Airways Cargo had a 25% increase in revenue year over year, as well as a 25% increase in cargo capacity. At QAR17.7 billion ($4.9 billion), the company had a solid EBITDA margin of 34%.

Due to simplified, agile, and fit-for-purpose operations across all business areas, EBITDA increased by QAR11.8 billion ($3.2 billion) over the previous year.
In 2021/22, the national carrier expanded to over 140 destinations, including Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, Lusaka, Zambia, Harare, Zimbabwe, Almaty, Kazakhstan, Kano and Port Harcourt, Nigeria, as well as resuming services to key markets across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
