MUSCAT: A recent report published by the United Nations stated that the Sultanate of Oman has implemented recycling projects.
The Sultanate has also upped its renewable energy generation with the aim of becoming a global centre for clean energy. The report stated that 40 per cent of Oman’s energy comes from clean sources.
A representative of the Sultanate of Oman affirmed during the Stockholm meeting, held recently, that Oman has put forward many initiatives related to the environment. The country has also established an award for environmental preservation, increased national parks and protect endangered species.

The Sultanate of Oman has established protected areas for sea turtles, dolphins and whales, and that the ecological balance is enshrined in Oman’s Vision 2040.
