MUSCAT: Nama Group is working to merge the electricity and water companies into two firms in order to enhance the efficiency and reduce operational and administrative costs.
An official source from the Department of Communication and Sustainability at Nama Group said the decision to merge companies comes following a directive from the government.
“Nama” Holding is working with a number of other government agencies represented in the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the Oman Investment Authority and the Public Services Regulatory Authority to implement all initiatives, including the integration of distribution and supply companies,” the source said.
