MUSCAT: The Ministry of Energy and Minerals, in cooperation with its partners has achieved an increase in the production of crude oil and oil condensates during the year 2021 with a balanced increase of 2.1%.
Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al-Anbouri, Director General of the General Directorate of Exploration and Production at the Ministry of Energy and Minerals said: “The ministry continues to enhance reserves of oil and gas, through exploration and producing companies, to increase reserves of crude oil and oil condensates by 4%.”
The annual report of the ministry added that the results of analyzes and testing the productivity of natural gas wells resulted finding new gas reserves.

He pointed out that the ministry is continuing its efforts in the In-Country Value Program, which has contributed to increasing spending in small and medium-sized enterprises by nearly 14% of total spending.
The report indicated that the average production of crude oil and oil condensate during the past year amounted to about 971 thousand barrels per day, an increase of 2.1% over the year 2020.
The total production of the liquefied petroleum gas in Oman in 2021 reached about 617,000 metric tons. The quantity produced by the Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company OQ Group amounted to over 531,000 metric tons, which constituted 86% of the total production.
