MUSCAT: The total deaths on account of COVID-19 pandemic amounted to 2,941 in 2021, representing 23.2 per cent of the total death cases registered in Oman, the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) said on Monday.
NCSI said there has been an increase in death rate in the last two years by 19.45% where Omanis represented 80% of the total death rates and expats represented 20%.
Muscat Governorate registered the highest number of COVID-19 death cases by 1,024 deaths, representing 35% of the total death cases due to COVID-19.
