MUSCAT: Mack Rutherford, a teenage pilot landed in Muscat on Wednesday as part of his his world-record attempt to become the youngest person to fly around the world in a small plane.
The 16-year-old British-Belgian pilot, received his pilot’s licence in 2020, making him the youngest pilot in the world at age 15. So far, Mack has flown to South Africa, Congo, Madagascar, Mauritius, Italy, Greece, Sudan and Kenya.
Rutherford visited Oman Air’s training centre on Wednesday. “The inspiring 16-year-old stopped by our Flight Training Centre today while in #Oman. We wish him all the best on his journey to break the current world record of youngest person to fly solo around the world,” Oman Air said.
