MUSCAT: Starting from Wednesday (June 1, 2022), the Ministry of Labour will implement the new revised visa fees for expatriate workers in Oman.
In a major decision taken on March 13, 2022, His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik directed the authorities to reduce fees related to recruitment of expatriate workforce in the country. The decision applies to both issuance and renewal of work permits for expatriates.
The work permit fees has also been reduced to more than 85% for companies committed to Omanisation ratio.

First class category:
The new work permit fees for first class will be OMR 301 (previously OMR 2001) for a period of two years, while the rate will be further reduced to OMR 211 if the company meets the Omanisation percentage.
Class 2 category:
While the second class (specialized and technical positions), the work visa fees has been reduced to OMR 251 (previously OMR 1001-OMR 601), while the rate will be further reduced by 30% to OMR 176 if the Omanisation ratio will be met by companies.
Class 3 category
For the third category (unskilled jobs), the work visa fees has been reduced to OMR 210 (previously OMR 301-361). A 30% discount will be offered and the fees will be further reduced to OMR 141 in case of meeting the Omanisation percentage.–
