MUSCAT: With all COVID-19 restrictions lifted in the Sultanate and the country returning back to normalcy, His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik on Tuesday directed to end the work of the Supreme Committee tasked with tackling developments resulting from the coronavirus.
During the Council of Ministers meeting held at Al Barakah Palace on Tuesday, His Majesty appreciated the role of the Supreme Committee headed by His Excellency Sayyid Hamoud Bin Faisal Al Busaidy, Minister of Interior.
“His Majesty the Sultan, while presiding over the cabinet meeting today, directed to end the work of the Supreme Committee,” Oman TV said in a statement.

“His Majesty the Sultan commended the role of the Supreme Committee and his appreciation for the efforts made in its management and for the good planning and development of appropriate mechanisms to deal with the pandemic, which contributed to limiting its spread,” the statement added.
His Majesty also directed the importance of the Ministry of Health continuing to take the measures it deems appropriate, in coordination with the concerned authorities.
His Majesty also praised the dedication of the medical staff and health workers, and the efforts made by all employees in civil, military and security institutions, public institutions and the private sector, and the cooperation of citizens and residents, and the speed of their response to health instructions and preventive measures.
