MUSCAT: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a major library and cultural center on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea in the Egyptian city of Alexandria, received a set of gifts from the Sultanate of Oman, during a celebration held by the library.

These gifts were delivered by His Excellency Ambassador Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi, the Sultanate of Oman’s ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the League of Arab States.

The handover ceremony was attended by Counsellor Muhammad Al-Zubair, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zubair Foundation, and Dr. Juma bin Ali Al Juma’a; Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Muscat University, and Taa’a Jandal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Finance Company.
 
On behalf of Prof. Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Dr. Sherif Riad, Head of the External Relations and Media Sector at the Library received the donations and thanked for this gift. It is an additional value to the library’s researchers and specialists, and enriches it in many fields related to the Sultanate of Oman.
 
In a speech to him, Ambassador Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi described the Library of Alexandria as an important cultural edifice, speaking about the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said and his humanitarian stances, his interest in his people and the history of his country, and how the idea of encyclopedias dedicated to the library began, including ‘Oman Since Time Immemorial’ and ‘Encyclopedia of the Mountains of Oman.’
