MUSCAT: The bilateral economic relations between Iran and the Sultanate of Oman will increase fivefold in five years after the recent visit of Iranian President, two Iranian economic officials have foreseen.
Iran President His Excellency Dr. Ebrahim Raisi and his accompanying delegation left Oman on Monday after an official visit.
Iranian news agency quoted the Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, Ali Reza Peyman Pak, also the head of the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization, as confirming the solution to the monetary, banking and transportation problems with Oman.

Peyman Pak explained that by solving these problems, in addition to strengthening trade and economic relations, part of Iran’s economic activities with the UAE will be transferred to Omani ports.
He added that with the consultations that took place between the two sides, Iran and Oman achieved good results in the areas of banking and monetary transportation. A total of 12 cooperation documents and memoranda of understanding were signed in the fields of energy, transportation, industrial cooperation and trade, during Ibrahim Raisi’s visit to Oman.
For his part, the Director-General of the Bureau of Arab and African Countries of the Iranian Trade Promotion Organization said that it was agreed that trade and economic relations between Iran and Oman would double within two years, and would also increase fivefold in a five-year period.
