MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik and visiting Iran President His Excellency Dr. Ebrahim Raisi expressed their satisfaction with the level of cooperation existing between the two countries, and decided to continue strengthening it and opening new areas of economic partnership.
A joint statement was published by both the countries indicating that the two leaders discussed, during the official talks session, joint trade and investment cooperation in various fields and coordination in affairs that serve the interests of the two countries.
The two leaders emphasized the positive and fruitful role played by the private sector in the two countries, and expressed hope that these activities would increase the volume of investments and the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.

The two leaders welcomed the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding to frame cooperation in the fields of investment, sports, agricultural, fish and animal wealth, maritime transport, ports, the logistics sector, and oil and gas.
His Majesty the Sultan appreciated what the Iranian President and his government are doing in adopting the policy of constructive interaction on the basis of the constants of Iranian policy and openness to all countries, especially neighbouring countries, which leads to positive relations based on mutual respect and good neighbourliness to develop common interests.
