COMEX 2022: Oman’s biggest tech show begins  

Over 150 exhibitors are taking part in the three-day event that will also showcase the country’s innovation in technology.

MUSCAT: Oman’s biggest technology, communications, and digital transformation show – COMEX, will kick off on Monday, May 23 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. 

Over 150 exhibitors are taking part in the three-day event that will also showcase the country’s innovation in technology. 

The 31st edition of the tech event will also host the banking and fintech zone in coordination with the Central Bank of Oman for the first time. It will also host the start-ups’ conference on AI (Artificial Intelligence) as well as the Awards for Excellence in Technology in 20 categories – for the first time.

“The event is one of the leading exhibitions to highlight the digital transformation of government through hosting a pavilion for ministries, authorities, and government companies to participate and showcase their achievements and opportunities for innovation in technology and their steps towards Oman Vision 2040,” Amr Baabood, CEO of Arabian Research Bureau (OITE Group), organisers of the event, said.

The event which will conclude on May 25, was
inaugurated under the auspices of Dr Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri, Chairman of Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow Up Unit.

Sadiq Khan, COO of OITE, said that there would be face-to-face activities from May 23 to 27 and ‘3D AI METAVERSE’ during the same period. “Also, other planned activities are for school and college students who would be given the opportunity to speak about their ideas through the sessions – School’s X and Stem and College and Universities X and Stem at Future Tech, and individuals and Societies X Stem,” he added.
