MUSCAT: A team from student company Etienne at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Sohar has created a device which can aid in rescuing fishermen in Oman.
The device can be installed on fishing boats and can send distress signal to the concerned authorities who can then actively engage in rescuing the fishermen in case of an emergency.
This innovative device, certified by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, contains advanced satellite communication technologies that allow communication from anywhere on earth. It also includes water leak sensors and overturns sensors.
