MUSCAT: The Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman has called upon citizens visiting Turkey to carry their passport during travels within the country.
The passport has to be produced before the authorities when asked. This rule has been issued in order to avoid any investigation and detention procedures as stated by the local authorities.
Turkey has implemented an identity verification campaign for tourists and has imposed strict measures, especially in the city of Istanbul.
