MUSCAT: The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs has announced the online registration for Haj for citizens and residents for the 1443 AH season will begin from May 9 to 14.

The ministry has indicated that the registration process is done through the link (www.hajj.om) directly during the specified period.

The system provides three methods for direct registration — by entering the civil number, personal card or mobile phone number if the ID card and phone card are supported by the certification system e-mail “pki”.

The ministry has clarified that women’s registration in the system must be preceded by the registration of one of her mahrams for Haj this season. The registration will be based on the civil number recorded in the personal card, provided that it is valid.

The ministry has pointed out the importance of confirming the desire when registering to benefit from the supreme aid for Hajj from beneficiaries of social security, based on coordination between the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Social Development.

The ministry has affirmed that Haj companies are prohibited from interfering with the registration of those wishing to perform the Haj rituals in order to ensure transparency and allow the freedom of choice for the Haj company by those who deserve it.

The ministry has made provisions for technical support and inquiries through the hotline – 80008008 – of the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs during official working hours, or submitting a report online for registering pilgrims of the Sultanate of Oman through www.hajj.om/contact
