MUSCAT: More than 400 prisoners were released during the month of Ramadan, taking the total cases to 871 under the Fak Kurba initiative, the Omani Lawyers Association (OLA).
“424 new cases were released during Ramadan under the new initiative taking the total prisoners released to 871,” lawyer Reem Al Zadjali said.
The campaign, Fak Kurba – which is Arabic for redeeming anguish – was launched by the Oman Lawyers Association (OLA) in 2012. Since then the campaign has helped thousands of prisoners.
