MUSCAT: The true spirit of the holy month of Ramadan is not only the time to focus on spirituality but also instils a sense of togetherness. This spiritual month speaks volumes about the unity and solidarity of Muslims across the continents.

The sacred month of Ramadan also has its own unique eating traditions, such as iftar, which showcases noteworthy cuisines and delicacies from Muslim communities around the world. Different means of honouring the holy month of Ramadan include social activities, seasonal delicacies, and recipes. Since unity is central to Ramadan, it goes without saying that observing iftar during this fasting month brings people together in a unique way.

Speaking to us on a similar train of thought, Hormuz Grand Muscat has been offering some exciting offers which are impossible to pass off.

“All our restaurants and private venues are filled with celebration, good food and joy of Ramadan.  For this season we have the ‘Dine 5, Pay 4’ offer at Straits restaurant, Ramadan stay package with Iftar and suhoor as well as various menu options to satisfy the trickiest palates for private Iftars in contemporary luxury settings of Hormuz Grand Muscat, A Radisson Collection Hotel,” said Inga Kaman.

When asked about the themes for Iftar and suhoor plans at Hormuz, Kaman said, “Since Ramadan is all about unity, kindness, philanthropic behaviour, we want to keep simplicity in our theme and focus more on food variety, quality and experience of flavours.”

Additionally, a qualified team of international chefs will be covering the array of Ramadan’s favourite dishes by incorporating their own personal touch and identity. This year, Hormuz Grand Muscat is also focusing on offering healthier options as well as giving back to society by supporting local SMEs and growers. Wherever possible, the hotel would be using Omani-grown produce such as greens, fish, meat and more.

Although Oman has eased COVID-19 restrictions, Hormuz Grand Radisson Collection Hotel will be continuing to follow WHO and the Oman Ministry of Health’s recommendations in keeping our guests and staff safe.

“Mask policy, capacity reduction, sanitising the venues have been strictly followed. We have sanitising, temperature control, mask stations and social distancing signs that have been strategically positioned around the hotel. We want our guests to feel relaxed however we also want them to know that their health and safety are our top priority,” said Kaman.

As the hospitality industry shows signs of recovery, the Sales, Marketing and Communication head commented, “We are optimistic that this year will bring more stability to the hospitality industry. The last few years were difficult for everyone not only financially but also mentally so this year we see a bright light at the end of the tunnel.”

“The first quarter so far has shown signs of recovery. With the great work done by the Ministry of  Tourism, we are seeing growing interest and demand for Oman as a vacation destination. There has been an increase in demand for international events and exhibitions.”

Hosted buyer events are slowly positioning Oman in the international markets not only as a leisure destination but also as a strong meeting, events and sports arena.

“We are seeing an increase in demand during the world cup therefore we believe that the coming quarters will put us back to pre-COVID times and boost the energy for the winter season in 2023.”
