MUSCAT: Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalili, the Grand Mufti of Oman strongly condemned the burning of copies of the Holy Book, the Quran, in Sweden.

In a statement issued on his twitter account, Sheikh Khalili said: “The enemies of Islam have revealed the hatred they harbor for this true religion and a challenge to those who believe in it by publicly burning the Qur’an while the police protect them. In this matter is a test for Muslims, otherwise the Qur’an will not be harmed, for if they burn its letters and the enemies will not be able to destroy its truth.”

Last week, Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the far-right Stram Kurs (Hard Line) group, burned a copy of the Holy Book in Sweden’s southern Linkoping city.
