MUSCAT: The Oman Meteorology has said that the report about the Sultanate of Oman being affected by a groove caused due to air depression in the following days is premature. It explained that these expectations are long-term and are often volatile.
The department has confirmed that the initial indicators and maps indicating grooves cannot be the basis to be certain that these grooves will reach the Sultanate because these readings and predictions need constant follow-up.
The report stated that April is a summer month in which the temperature is high, and if grooves are formed during its period, they are rare, and if they are found and formed, they will be exceptional.

The Oman Meteorological Department has called on the weather observers to seek information from verified sources, stressing that the forecast centre is always careful in dealing with groove formations, their readings, announcements and dissemination to followers.
The Oman Meteorology tweeted on Sunday morning, April 17, indicating the spread of low clouds on parts of the coasts of the governorates of Al Wusta and Dhofar, with the flow of high clouds over parts of the governorates of Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, Al Buraimi, South Al Batinah and Musandam.
