MUSCAT: The Food Safety and Quality Centre Oman, on Friday, issued a warning regarding chocolate eggs Kinder Surprise Maxi being contaminated with salmonella bacteria.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has announced that Ferrero has recalled several batches of Kinder Surprise eggs in the UK due to a salmonella link.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), Public Health Scotland, Public Health Wales, and the Public Health Agency Northern Ireland conducted investigations and discovered a link between reported cases of salmonella poisoning across the UK and Kinder eggs.

20g eggs or three-packs of eggs with best before dates between July 11 and October 7, 2022 are affected.

Ferrero has recalled the products as a precautionary measure, and consumers have been cautioned to not consume them.

The eggs were all produced at the same plant, according to the FSA. Other Ferrero products are unlikely to be affected.
