MUSCAT: General Federation of Oman Workers (GFOW) has urged the Ministry of Labour to conduct an investigation of the rock collapse incident which occurred in the Wilayat of Ibri in Al Dhahirah Governorate on Sunday morning that killed six people and left four injured.
In a statement released by the federation on Twitter, ”The General Federation of Oman Workers received news of some workers trapped under the rubble and others who’ve lost their lives in the incident. The Federation has stressed the necessity of the establishments’ commitment to implement occupational safety and health measures. It also calls on the Ministry of Labour to conduct an investigation to ascertain the extent of the company’s commitment to implementing those measures and procedures.”
