MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik said reducing the expat work visa fees will significantly help the private sector.
Addressing the sheikhs from various governorates in wilayat Sohar, His Majesty said decisions are taken for the best interest of the country. “We decided to reduce the expat fees to help the private sector particularly the SMEs,” His Majesty informed.
Last week His Majesty directed the authorities to reduce the work visa fees starting from June 1, 2022.

Regarding the rise in oil prices, His Majesty said:
“People are talking about an increase in oil prices and therefore the state’s income has increased. We are trying, as much as possible, to get rid of the debt that we owe, and at the same time, what is more than that will be spent on projects.”
