MUSCAT: Muscat Municipality has announced setting up a dedicated site for meat grilling-related activities in Wilayat of Amerat.
This project is aimed at regulating the activity of street vendors in the governorate. The site be facilitated with chairs, tables marble garbage containers and 12 lighting poles.
The objective behind setting up this site is to unite all mobile vendors in an integrated space. It will also aid in developing this area while maintaining a civilised sense of mobile vending activities. Furthermore, it also facilitates monitoring food quality and protecting the residential sites from harmful fumes due to grilling.

“A Grill Zone Project will be set up at the Highlands 2 in Wilayat of Amerat will be a designated site for meat grilling activities. The site will be having a capacity to park 20 mobile carts with facilities to support the work environment of street vendors,” the municipality said in a tweet on Wednesday, March 16.
This project is expected to be beneficial as it’ll reinforce the mobile vending business whilst reducing traffic congestion. It’ll also improve the overall aesthetics of the locality with organised entrances and exits away from the residential area.
