MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Consumer Protection Authority and the Oman Society for Consumer Protection, will be participating in the celebration of International Consumer Day, March 15.
The celebration will be sponsored by His Excellency Salim bin Ali Al-Hakmani, Chairman of the Commission, in the hall of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Bausher.
The aim of the celebration is to stand in solidarity with all activities concerned with the consumer worldwide to promote and respect basic consumer rights and the consumer’s right. This will aid in obtaining fair and sustainable markets and encourage importance of solidarity and cooperation among all parties to the relationship, including consumers, suppliers, government and private agencies.

The ceremony will include the conclusion of the commercial fraud campaign by announcing the results of the competition to introduce the commercial fraud law, reviewing the evaluation of the commercial fraud campaign, signing a partnership agreement between Consumer Protection and the Omani Society for Consumer Protection, and holding a symposium during which a set of working papers on fair digital financing will be presented.
