MUSCAT: Oman is keen on providing a secure digital environment for all business sectors, confirmed Dr. Saud bin Humaid bin Salem Al Shuaili, Director General of Policies and Governance at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
In an interview published by Telecom Review, he said, “The Sultanate’s government has made great efforts in establishing digital government services today, as we have many services provided via the Internet and digitisation.”
He said that choosing Muscat as the Arab Digital Capital for 2022 will help in cooperating with various entities from governments and the private sector, to advance digital transformation, and implement a kind of strategic coordination mechanism between different entities, to align efforts towards achieving digital transformation goals.

He stated that His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s ratification and blessing of the digital transformation plan give sufficient authority to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology to work for what is required, re-engineer and designate who will implement the process for any digital government service.
