MUSCAT: The first session of Corporate Governance: Performance and Productivity commenced on Wednesday, 9 March.
At the conference, discussions were held on the governance of the state-owned enterprises sector, the banking sector, investment and finance companies, the insurance sector, the service and industry sectors.
Mr. Hamed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Executive Director of the Oman Center for Governance and Sustainability, explained in his speech, “The centre plays an active role in consolidating the principles and rules of governance in the work environment of companies in order to be able to compete and reach globalisation and keep pace with Oman Vision 2040 goals.”

He added that the conference will focus on companies, especially those listed on the Muscat Stock Exchange, numbering approximately 110 companies, with a capital of more than OMR 3.5 billion and a market value estimated at 7 billion and OMR 300 million, and achieved profits estimating to OMR 771 million in 2021.
