MUSCAT: There is a greater demand for women’s taxi service in Oman, Harith Al Maqbali, CEO of Otaxi, the online cab service that was officially launched on Tuesday said.
Speaking to The Arabian Stories, Al Maqbali said Otaxi is receiving a “great response” after they launched the service exclusively for women. “Since January 25 we had trial operations of the service and our female drivers managed to complete 1,000 trips in one month. Ever since we launched the demand is really good,” Maqbali said.
According to Maqbali, the company will recruit 200 female drivers in the next 12 months. “The female taxi is service fully secured and we have more plans soon,” he added.

The female taxi service was launched officially on Tuesday by Her Highness Sayyida Hujaija Jaifer Al Said.
