MUSCAT: His Excellency Sayyid Saud bin Hilal bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Muscat issued a regulation regulating the practice of scrap collecting and handling activity in the Governorate of Muscat.
The first article stipulates that he works in the matter of regulating the practice of scrap collecting and handling activity in the Governorate of Muscat, according to the provisions of the attached regulations:
Provided that the licenses issued to engage in scrap collecting and handling activity before the provisions of the attached regulations are implemented until the expiry of their term, and they are renewed in accordance with the provisions of these regulations.

The decision indicated that the aforementioned Local Ordinance No. (1/2009), as well as everything that contravenes the attached regulation or contravenes its provisions, shall be rescinded. This decision shall be published in the Official Gazette, and shall be enforced 30 days after the date of its publication.
The decision was based on the Royal Decree No. 101 / 2020 issuing the Provincial and Municipal Affairs System and on the Local Ordinance No. 1/2009 regulating the practice of scrap collection and handling activity in the Governorate of Muscat and with the approval of the Ministry of Finance.
