Oman’s general budget achieves OMR 18 million surplus in January 2022

The Ministry of Finance released the monthly financial accounts which indicate that the state’s public spending for January 2022

MUSCAT: The state’s public revenues at the end of January 2022 increased by 85.2 percent to reach OMR 803.3 million, compared to the same period in 2021, driven by the increase in production and oil and gas prices.

The monthly financial accounts issued by the Ministry of Finance indicate that the state’s public spending for the month of January 2022 increased by 9.59 percent to reach OMR 785.3 million, including public debt service provisions of OMR 162.4 million.

The accounts show that the state’s general budget achieved a financial surplus of about OMR 18 million in January 2022, compared to a financial deficit of OMR 282.9 million in January 2021.
