MUSCAT: Oman is a “remarkably successful” model in handling the COVID-19 pandemic, India’s former External Affairs Minister and Congress MP Dr. Shashi Tharoor said.
In a statement issued on his official social media handle, Tharoor heaped praise on Oman’s health services. Tharoor was on a visit to Oman to address the 20thanniversary celebrations of Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals in Muscat. Tharoor also appreciated the efforts of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health in handling the pandemic.
“Enjoyed meeting HE Ahmed Al Saeedi, Oman’s Minister of Health, who has presided over a dramatic expansion in public health services in his country and achieved a doctor-patient ratio better than USA’s. Oman has been a remarkably successful model in handling the COVID-19 pandemic,” Tharoor said.
